CLAUDE WATERMARK REMOVER · CALLBACK TEST
Will Copy preserve a manual edit to the result?
In the callback test, yes: Copy reads the current result value at click time, including a manual edit. The existing character count is not recalculated by that copy handler.
What the test establishes
The first clean produces AB and a two-character result count. We then assign MANUAL to the result and invoke Copy. The recorded clipboard argument is MANUAL while the count still describes the earlier result. Comparing the field itself with the destination is therefore more informative than relying on that old count after an edit.
Reproduce the observation
Save tested-app.js and reproduce.cjs together, then run node reproduce.cjs. Compare its output with the recorded observation. The harness executes the actual homepage callback in a minimal DOM and records its resulting field values and method calls. File-like objects and clipboard responses are controlled substitutes. Runtime: v24.22.1. No submitted text or genuine Claude output is used.

}Capability boundary
Direct property assignment represents the handler-visible state, not keyboard interaction. We do not test whether a specific browser lets a user type into this field here. The narrow finding is that the copy callback reads result.value rather than retaining a separate immutable cleaned string.
This Claude watermark remover edits a small selected character set. These callback observations do not establish authorship, detector scores, statistical-watermark removal or end-to-end browser behavior. For real work, keep the original and compare the exact result at its destination.
Primary material and next step
The tested first-party source snapshot and complete harness are the primary material for this page. For broader scope, read invisible Unicode versus AI watermarks, or return to the cleaner.
